BALL x PIT

PROTON TIER: PLATINUM

BALL x PIT is a roguelite brick-breaker where you fuse balls, build a base, and survive waves of enemies.

Status Check: Proton (Platinum)

TWEAKS & TRICKS:

  • Game Launch Failure: The game failed to launch on some systems. Solution: Enable the GE (GloriousEggroll) Proton fork.
  • Black Screen During Menus: Black screens appear when menu objects are generated (dialogs, settings menus). Solution: Launch in windowed mode: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% -window
  • Occasional Functionality Issues: Certain functions (zooming at home base) and controls occasionally cease to function. Solution: Restart the game or start a new run.
  • Vignette/CRT Brightness: Turning off the “Vingette Effect” and “CRT Effect” improves brightness. Solution: Disable these effects in the game’s settings.

Verdict: BALL x PIT is highly recommended for Linux gamers. It runs exceptionally well on Proton, particularly on the Steam Deck. While a few quirks exist, they are easily circumvented with the provided solutions.
