TWEAKS & TRICKS

• Problem: Multiplayer connections fail, resulting in an “EOS NullClient” error due to the absence of Linux anticheat support within the EOS control panel. Test Drive mode functions correctly locally.
  • Solution: Use the GE-Proton10-2 compatibility mode. Add the following to launch options: GE-Proton10-2
• Problem: EasyAntiCheat encounters faults when querying the backend API.
  • Solution: Launch options: PROTON_LOGS=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 DXVK_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
• ProtonUp-QT Setup: Required for GE-Proton compatibility versions.
  • Solution: Install ProtonUp-QT from your Linux distribution’s software manager (e.g., Software Manager in Linux Mint). Ensure Steam has been launched at least once before utilizing ProtonUp-QT.

Verdict iRacing is playable on Linux via Proton, but currently limited to single-player Test Drive mode due to missing anticheat support. The game otherwise performs well, exhibiting good graphics and force feedback, though competitive multiplayer remains unavailable. Potential buyers should be aware of this limitation.
