TWEAKS & TRICKS

  • Performance Drops & Unstable FPS (NVIDIA GPU): Switching to an AMD GPU resolves performance issues.
  • Shader Compilation Delay: Initial performance is low (30 FPS) for approximately one minute while shaders compile. Subsequently, performance improves to over 60 FPS with peaks up to 90 FPS at 2560x1080 resolution in high quality.
  • Crashes on Loading: Lower graphics settings in the game’s menu allow loading to succeed.
  • Crashes during Loading: Reduced graphics settings in the game’s menu solve the issue.
  • Sound Issue (Audio Crackling):
    • Solution: Add launch option -sdlaudiodriver=pulse.

Verdict A solid Gold-tier experience on Linux via Proton. While shader compilation delays and occasional performance hiccups exist, they can largely be mitigated through graphics settings adjustments. A worthwhile purchase for Linux gamers.
